The limerick shark’s on the prowl - dum dum
His face in a permanent scowl - dum dum
For his next role in Jaws,
he demands a food clause;
Amityville tourists taste foul - dum dum

Living in fear of trou-de-loup
Jittering teeth as terror unfurls
Fingers of mist become pea soup
Unfamiliar with alien world.
Muffled sound hear dog bark
I think Hound of Baskerville
Vision has fled but fear is stark
Paralyzed ridged standing still.
Wendigo watching I am sure
Dorian Gray has left his attic
Amityville Horror is there more?
Spectors stalking truly traumatic.
Staggered onward now am home
Shaking fingers grip house key
Horror unfolds am not alone
The Changeling awaits just for me.
Information: Pea soup fog is caused by air pollution that contains soot particulates and poisonous gas. There was a particularly nasty one in 1952 London

I have always loved to read since I was a young child
I read Charlotte’s Web over and over, I was beguiled
I would walk for miles to the town library every week
And brought home books my parents didn’t like, sometimes freak
When I was nine, I climbed a ten-foot built-in bookcase in our house
My parents were sleeping when I climbed to the top, quiet as a mouse
I would sneak all types of books to my room that I knew were forbidden
And kept them in my room, under my bed, secretly hidden
I read the Amityville horror in secret until one night I screamed in my room
My bedroom shade went up by itself, I was terrified, I thought I was doomed
My Mother came running in, very worried, to find out what was going on
She saw the horror book, and the adult books under my bed that didn’t belong
I was grounded for weeks but continued to love to read all types of genres
Spending afternoons reading with a cup of tea and relaxing in my pajamas
Patterson, Cornwell, and Slaughter, are some of my favorite authors today
Reading is still favorite pastime, a way to escape my world in a healthy way

They Found Their Dream House
By Elton Camp
A large family home Joe and Sue required
With a quick sale as their lease had expired
A fixer-upper, they agreed, would have to do
So limited resources made the choices few
With the realtor they had spent a whole week
As the house of their dreams they did seek
“I know that what we want is hard,” Joe said
The agent, with a wry smile, nodded his head
“There’s a really large place here on my list
And on a quick sale the owners firmly insist.”
“It has all of the features that you say you need
But it’s been empty a while and gone to seed.”
“About this place, someone actually wrote a book
It’s getting dark, but we can go and take a look.”
“And your anxiety about price I can sure relieve.
It’s set so far below appraisal you won’t believe.”
So that is how Joe and Sue finally came to own
A house priced low, though large & well-known
Finding such a bargain surely gave them a thrill
Since prices are usually quite high in Amityville

Two Ps in PumPkin
Two BIG Os in OctOber
and apples galore
One October night
Along about All Saint's Day
I heard Satan laugh
T'was in a rural graveyard.......
Or.....was it the old Bijou?
October pig roast
Girls squeal and the fire pit POPS!
Boys have a leaf fight
While Mrs. and I keep warm
After dark the ghosts will come
October hayrack
A friendly kiss in the straw
Horses country road
Autumn mystery
GIANT PUMPKINS come to life
They live at our house
The pool covered o'er
No swimming in October
Beneath the canvas
Crawls the Amityville horror
Or so big brother tells me
