and the beginning and the end are the same;

Humanity's produced all through the ages
A thin but steady stream of brilliant sages.
Good and Evil... the Meaning of Life...
The causes of all our confusion and strife...
Good guidance and advice come from their careful pondering
As we, their students, through our lives we're wandering.
Now at last a new sage shines so bright:
She knows EVERTHING -- and is ALWAYS right!
With her we now may achieve Total Reform:
Racial, Sexist, Ethnic, Cultural...
Religious, Economic, Political...
Ethical and Moral; personal and collective...
Without us being overly reflective!
To free our selves - and World! - of every awful vice,
We only need to follow Mom's encompassing advice.
Devote ourselves to faithfully follow her Grand Plan:
"Everybody, be NICE!"

I rushed into my friend’s office once not realizing she had a guest.
She said “This is Dr. Pat McClintock.”
Dr. Pat McClintock said “You are a Stone Twin from Chariton Iowa.”
This shocked me.
I was forty-four at the time, living in Missouri.
No one here knew about me being a twin.
Well, maybe one or two, but not a stranger.
I nodded, wondering who this woman was.
“I was your second grade teacher, Miss Meyers.”
Suddenly I remembered her well.
She had drawn a horse for Becky Jones.
When I said I wanted one she said she would make me one.
But the next time we came to school, she was gone.
Right after Christmas break.
She never came back and I never got that drawing.
I remembered her all right….

O Valentine, be mine,
Our love transcends time,
Silver seniors, plus one,
Our funday's now begun,
We'll do a date night,
True love done right,
Afternoon of delights,
Morning glories, all right,
Valentine, so bright,
I turn on my light,
Is love so blind,
Be mine, my Valentine.

It’s all right if I fall apart
Vases are meant to be broken
My glue fails in togetherness
See ancient plain of jars stalwart
Old, weathered, and unwoken
It’s all right if I break into pieces
The day comes with its crazy glue
Beckoning me to keep it together
So what if others look mint
I practice wholeness bruised
I’m letting go of perfecting
Even fine porcelain has its cracks
Brokenness has its rewards
Scattered see how the pieces fit
When the day comes hammering
The whole is afraid of falling
Down below nowhere to go
Perfect in imperfection is a relief
Pieces of me drop away again
My heart lurching finds a home
If only my pieces have a voice
Speak my broken objections
Help me to remember shattering
Natural as peaceful dissection
Poking anthropology for clues
Without dismemberment true
How can I know the whole?
It’s all right if there is no glue
Don’t put me together falsely
Finding perfection in pieces
Vases are fine either way

I am not so sure Buddy is not a pony
His hair is coarse and straight
His tail looks exactly like a pony’s
but he has the face of a dog.
A horsefly makes him act crazy
Maybe he is a pony
That died and reincarnated too quickly?
He never shakes his head up and down
like a pony though
He shakes his head side to side
as if to say “no”
like our daughters always did
He belongs to us all right.

I’ve decided to go mad, I mean truly insane.
I live in a country where the people in power have killed the dignity and respect that once we’re main stays.
We once had a sense of what’s right and knew what was wrong but now the wrongs are all right and the rights are all wrong.
So when I look at what’s left I see nothing that’s right. I see fear in our eyes, I see people of mine facing a future of worry and strife.
I see the greed of the rich wallow in seas of silk and fine wines. I see the real people suffer because of lies upon lies.
So I’ve decided to go mad I mean truly insane. So I can spin in the wind and laugh at the tears of our pain.

IT’S ALL RIGHT FOR YOU
Why didn’t you hire a tandem,
If we had to ride together?
Did you ever ask yourself whether
I’d be comfortable like this?
I know you are working harder than me,
But I have a bell where a bell shouldn’t be.
Why didn’t you hire a tandem?

A little known fact
That may not scream real tact,
But the truth nonetheless
A gift I possess.
I’m a genius all-right,
My star always bright,
From birth until now
Always destined to WOW.
Some call me quite mad,
But in truth they’re just sad,
That they cannot be
A star just like me.
I’m one in a billion
America’s pillion,
The man of the hour,
The seat of all power.
Each word that I utter
Causes records to shatter,
Opponents to swoon
Crying world ending doom.
Yet the markets are up,
World leaders pile up
To knock on my door
Beseeching for more.
My supporters all know
The effect of my glow,
While the rest shall soon feel,
My art of the deal.
I’ve only just started, you’ve seen nothing yet,
I’m the one you should follow and not that great threat,
I’ll make us all rich, of that there’s no doubt
Let’s bring in the sunshine, enough of the drought.

I shall never wear a tam-o-shanter in Scotland,
Yet I am satisfied for this is all right with me.
I shall never play my tambourine to a crowd of ten thousand,
Yet I am happy for this is all right with me.
An inkling of King Solomon’s wisdom tells me I will never see Saar,
Yet, I am satisfied, for who can see it on Pinterest? Me.
Eventually I will probably see all of this and more from a heavenly catbird seat.
And this is more than enough to make my heart happy.

When it's my turn
To be put in the ground,
I'd love to be there
To see who's around.
Who's shedding tears
And actually grieving,
Is anyone smirking
Glad at my leaving.
I hope it pours down
As they lower me in,
I'd watch them squirming
Getting soaked to the skin.
I'm not really bitter
But it's all right for them
For I'll not see sunshine,
Ever again.
