She is the twilight hue, virgin olive color
After the preparation when the color would be mine
I will know the cooking menu for today,
dripping heavy density that would never say
the other day, the other nay, the other say.

It was a bright and clear day,
She wore a flowing pink dress bordered with lace,
Her face glowed under the sun's light,
She didn’t expect any less after days of grooming,
She sat like an adorned princess,
The garden was a huge delight
The blooms were cathartic and therapeutic,
She anticipates his visit,
A handsome lad from the neighbouring Isles,
Each time they converse,
The more they are drawn to each other,
She has had suitors come for her,
She has had beaus praise her snow-white beauty,
None had been able to open the door to her heart,
Only Alejandro has been the fortunate one,
He first saw her in a picture with an acquaintance,
Since then he has been spellbound,
Swept off his feet by his newfound,
“My lady, your guest is here.”
She turned to look at her maid,
She beamed with a smile as she stood up,
She walked with elegant strides,
Her heart raced,
“Meredith!”
“Oh, yes mum.”
“Could you please help me with these logs?”
“Ok, mum.”
“Thank you, dear.”

My love at first beat,
but chose to break my heart.
My heart breaker,
but led to restore my courage.
My reason of emptiness,
but set alight the purpose of my being.
In an argument above tension,
You are my harmony.
In a situation which possesses no equilibrium,
You are my balance.
In the dismalness of weather and when serenity fills me with gloomy thoughts.
You are my Sunshine.
My Alejandro Melchizedek.
Our Little Angel in Heaven.

For Valentina, she was just another person in a nameless town.
In ennui of the busy streets? of the city of San Francisco, in the midst of all the festivities,
She suddenly stopped, forgotten by the world she once knew.
As the rainfalls cascades on her accoutred fur coat, the boudior filled with women was invisible to her.
?Her neck tie is now out of place, no longer in any fashion sense.
As she parades the narrow foggy alley without regard, the wincing of the bystanders behind her seemed unnoticable.
Now standing beside the roadside in reminiscent of what her outcome could've been.
Her disconsolate face says it all, Tapachula, a place she has left her heart.
The euphony of the Fandango, the ineffable jovial laughter of the ancianas, the merengues dance and the stomp beat; all calling her name.
But of all things was the church with bells and the Artesian wells?,
The cozy mountains, the halcyon pathways where she strolls in barefoot. But mostly at the bakery shop, is the shy and handsome Alejandro who, with the warmest smile, never forget to hand her a bag of fresh rolls with a note "te amo".

The throbbing of his heart, Translation of carlos Bousono’s sonnet : Los golpes de su corazon
(According to the anthology editor, Alejandro D. Amusco, this sonnet with a different title first appeared in Bousono’s collection : Invasion de la Realidad, 1962, and this revised sonnet : « In its new form – the sense of the poem varies radically – it stops being a love poem to become (one of) an auto-elegy. » I admit it would be futile to keep to the rhyme scheme : abba, abba, cca, bba. T. Wignesan)
I know the throbbing in your breast
has become scarce. Heart, slow down
your passionate movement
and make light the painful groans.
for this body where my feelings
concentrate all its love, where I feel
death at each ashen beat
of grave and oppressing repetitions.
Let sleep your heart, cross my casing
of death lowering into this dark soil
and there keep throbbing in all the senses.
Hark the strings ! Heart, slow down
your passionate movement
of your grave and oppressing repetitions.
