Lovely Friend

Lovely Friend
My love for friend is so great,
My heart melts for him 'till the Dusk of Day.'
The night dies when he is away,
He sends, writes till day's dawn.
He is handsome and pretty nice,
Wondering my mind till i see him.
Stunning is all i do,
While waiting for the moment, for him to say, ''i do''.

Red Sun 1

RED SUN
( O BLESS US )

One who dispels misery,
Busts illusions, grants wishes,
Lifts away darkness, and is
Ever eternal ;

Sustainer of life, soft yet
Severe, tender yet tough, the
Ultimate Truth, world’s witness,
Sooryaya Namah:

Form: Dodoitsu (sylls: 7-7-7-5 )/Acrostic.

@ 20 jun 2013
For Anne Currin's 'Any poem'.

Notes:
1)“Sooryaya namah” is Sanskrit, has 5 syllables, and it means “Salutations to the Sun”.

2) The first letters of the above 8 lines put together in its order reads “ O BLESS US”

3) This is an abridged and rough rendering of the famous ‘Aditya Hridaya Mantra’( a prayer to the Sun God) from The Ramayana, India’s age-old epic. Chanting of this is supposed to free one from the three kinds of misfortunes of mankind, viz. 1) Soul-related( diseases, pain, hunger etc), 2) Physical surroundings-related ( robbers, beasts, terrorists etc ), 3) Divine in nature ( earthquakes, floods, droughts, hurricanes, Tsunamis etc)

Keep It "o" Aditya !!

Born on the earth
To bring her mirth,
Aditya, a rising Sun,
By illuminating Horizon,
Imparting her ‘Sanjeevan’,
Glitters in Heaven!

The eclipsed Sun darkens!
But fadeless Aditya, always brightens!
Your success with outstanding ‘O’,
Arouses in my mind, a respectful awe!
With your imperishing, triumphant, fadeless glow,
Your friends and foes, with respect will bow!

I have no doubt,
You have a clout,
By your eternal Love,
In future do prove,
That the glittering, fadeless, triumphant Sun,
Is not in Heaven, but is in you, O! ‘Outstanding’ sun!!

May I wish, you shine ‘Brighter than the Thousand Suns’!!
