By the time I branched out to www.allpoetry, I was a bit more confident
I believe that now I know a teensy tiny bit about what poetry is.
Delving into this art for eight years, has not been nearly enough
There is so much to learn; I feel I barely know anything yet.
Here is what I do know. It is fun for me to write every day.
I set a daily goal of ten poems; I usually make this goal.
Have made this goal for four years.
I like sharing my poems, and appreciate every comment.
As a thank you to others, I hold six poetry contests simultaneously.
I would hold twelve, but we are limited to only six.
A thesaurus and scientific fact book for children are my references.
If I run out of ideas I say “what if” and create outrageous scenarios.
I love writing poetry; for I am a storyteller.
Spring the time the world comes alive
Photosynthesis begins , flowers and plants arrive
Releasing oxygen into the atmosphere
Inspiring the world full of cheer
New beginnings on mother earth
Geology restructures and does rebirth
Armed with weapons to kill the enemy
Remember those who have died for your country
Many thousands throughout all the years
Individuals who survived still shedding tears
Stood on foreign soil fighting hard
Taking hits like a ball in the yard
Anywhere in the world our military deployed
Creating freedom, dictatorship we did avoid
Enemies come in all types of form
Dictators, terrorists world peace not the norm
All young men and women sign on the line
Your lives you'll give when it is time.
Canada the home of my birth
open sky from sea to shining sea
unbelievable beauty captivates my heart
no other place I would rather live
teaming with wildlife trees and lakes
rising rocky mountains in the west
yesterday, today and tomorrow a part of me
