I watched the birds from afar, they swooped, and they soared right up high, then straight toward the ground,
They made me dizzy, with the patterns they made in swirling circles going around and around,
It was all so fast like a hair-raising race, with each bird desperate to not be last,
Were they friends just playing games or foes in their territory not letting anything past.
They looked like they were on the fastest roller coaster, flashing through the air,
As they dive down to the ground going as close as they could possibly dare,
Then they stop for a break on the great big gnarly tree,
And off they go again celebrating just living and just being free.

Fluffy tailed performers
Chitter chatter among themselves
No one listening, everyone slathering
Juicy gossip
Taking daring fifteen foot leaps and dives
From magnificent heights, barely landing on
Tiny branches.
Flinging themselves with wild abandon
And oodles of faith into the air, flipping and
Swirling. Contortionists.
Sliding up trunks the way others slide down.
Landing with a well-earned acorn in their jaws.
A fat acrobat from Detroit
lost his grip for he wasn't adroit
he fell with a plop
his partner on top
which really was quite an exploit!
Yes, Tubby made quite a fine matress
Ringling Brothers asked for his address
he made his career
plopped on his derriere
It seems he had started a fad.. YES!
Soon crowds lined the seats of the rink
wondering if Tubby would stink
he finished the task
in spite of some gas
Now Tubby is dressing in mink.
