Premium Member Hi Honey See You Tonight

A flirty young lady who went by the name Jane,
Every day a new beau, was insanely addicted, couldn’t abstain
On dating sites, she would spend her day,
Hoping to meet Mr Right, come what may,
Instead, knifed seven times police said, she suffered inhumane pain.

I did not have sexual relations I swore
but my mouth organ she was just askin’ for.
    No one played like Monica
and she loved a good cigar
but now she won’t blow my nut sax anymore!

All my interns played it for me I confess
and with me pass an act of sexual congress.
    That woman, Miss Lewinsky,
    sure stained my Presidency
but Holy BJ, I sure stained her blue dress!

Premium Member Abstain

Wanna hear crazy?
they try and make me abstain
your eyes force my sin
I’m addicted to danger
They forgot about my thoughts.

Addicted To the Pain

Addicted to the pain
Reaching out for help would be vain

Many woes I have slain
Happy only when feeling drained

No point trying to abstain
Letting my demons dance in the rain

What is destined is insane
A one-way ticket for a dead-end train

Nothing to lose, nothing to gain
Only confined by invisible chains

Flowing free like the blood in my veins
Kept in a cage constructed by my brain

The world visible through the window pane
I shall not move, I stay in my lane

With all of my options, I light the butane
For I am, addicted to the pain

Abstain

Wanted to get laid
But I cannot pay because we have not been paid
So…ran to get aid
Now I am afraid
Of contacting aid
Because if I should contact aid
No amount of aid
Will cure the aid
So instead I have decided to abstain
Because abstinence is the best aid
To avoid aid
ABSTAIN!!!!

Abstain - Using a Phone Whilst Driving

I wake up in a hospital bed,
Told I’ll no longer have use of my legs,
Its not something that can easily go out of your head,
So the thought of the future now fills me with dread.

It took a moment for my life to fall apart,
A single second where someone didn't act very smart.
Now I need to make a fresh start,
And try and not remember stupid things I took for granted, like push a shopping cart.

Using their phone whilst in the drivers seat,
Sending out a stupid little tweet,
Now they’ll be taking all the heat,
Because my legs it did defeat.

Were those words worth all the pain?
Because now my life will never be the same,
How can someone be so inhumane,
Please tell me now, please explain!

Now their life is torn apart like mine,
You never think it'll be you on the front line,
Now you’ve made all the headlines,
Because of your stupidity, sunshine.

Now I’ll never be able to walk again,
And they will always carry my bloodstain,
Thats why driving with a phone in your hand you should abstain,
So thats why I’m telling you about this campaign.

Always Abstain

Always Abstain

Are you a down-hearted poet with no spirit?

Tell Poetry Soup so all they can hear it

What I like about them and is so neat

To no one else will they ever repeat.

Center of attention is position you maintain

On a clear day or possibly out in the rain

Makes no difference what poems you prefer

With Poetry Soup, lifetime they will endure.

Have not found any calories in food for thought

And even though I might be bragging a lot

Hope you understand this pure and plain

From criticism, Poetry Soup will always abstain.
