Zoo
I took my young son to the zoo
Look Mummy do you see that Kangaroo
There’s a Joey peeping from her pouch
If it grows too big does his mum say OUCH!
Young chimps and monkeys made us smile
And we viewed their antics for a while
They swung on ropes and a trapeze
And had fun climbing up the trees
The golden lion roared at us
I didn’t want to make a fuss
But admit I was a little scared
Of the massive teeth the lion bared
Our favourite animals of them all
Were the huge giraffes, they are so tall
I watched one stick out its black tongue
Gosh, I’ve never seen a tongue so long!
We watch penguins out on parade
And fed them fish as we had paid
For lots of food for them to eat
To feed them was son’s birthday treat!
We shared a picnic, then buy ice creams
Son drops his cone, there are loud screams
The vendor sees and says ‘hey birthday boy’
Have another from me, son squeals with joy
Our day out at the zoo was oh such fun
But we had to leave as we had done
All the exciting things we planned to do
On son’s birthday trip to the local zoo
