Zigzag Hearts and Pent-Up Dreams
Zigzag Hearts and Pent-up Dreams
No matter how perfect everything seemed
I guess we had our faults
Sitting here, I'm almost crying
And I can't seem to stop.
You made everything seem so right
So perfectly fixing mistakes
Nothing felt wrong, it was all correct
But you've made my heart break.
You said I was all you wanted
And you were everything to me
And yet, you say we don't belong
I guess there was something I didn't see.
And all at once, I'm alone
A piece of me is gone
Once again, I made the classic mistake
I did what I knew was wrong.
I opened myself up to you
And make myself feel weak
I should have known better than to hold your hand
Or let you dazzle me when you speak.
I suppose it was "just a crush"
In your eyes, that's how it seemed
And now, I'm broken once again
With a zigzag heart and pent-up dreams.
