Zephyr of Spring

Spring's yellow-green heart shaped tender leaves blown
Spring's zephyr winds tossed new leaves to and fro
Quickly from hidden laden buds now grown
Absorbing sunlight, spring's green soon to go

Rabbits now from their cozy burrow run
Hop, jump enjoy green tender shoots of grass
While lazily basking in morning sun
Then in late afternoon hide as clouds amass

As the twilight cast its eerie shadow
The sleeping birds roost in their summer nest
Sleepily fawn_doe in lush green meadow
Darkness of night with shadows now brings rest

Well Sara! i don't know whether to dash out, and (spring about)..very undignified... (but fun)...or to doze awhile, along with those birds in their domicile! very pleased to read this engaging piece today!

Lovely ode to spring Sara. If it is for a contest I think could be a high winner. I just came from a sad funeral for a young man of 42 who couldn't get away from his depression any other way than by taking his own life. So sad. But in my mail was my book of Robert Frosts poems. And that brought cheer back into my day. I can't wait to start reading. That didn't take long at all from the time you mailed it. Thank you, thank you. Love, Joyce

Lots of images from nature, Sara. I have always loved that romantic word zephyr for a breeze. And I really enjoyed this spring to summer quatrain.

A lovely description of the sites associated with spring, Sara. When the new leaves emerge, that spring green color is so beautiful. Really liked the image of the sun setting and seeing the sleeping birds and the fawn in the meadow. Love, Carolyn
