Your Words Ring True

Dedicated to Poet Freddie Robinson Jr. 11/10/17 YOUR WORDS RING Oh, John, young John you were on your way Your words ring true You spoke for humanity One autumns day in Texas Oh, brother Robert you laid down your life as John You too wanted to help the improvised and poor The enslaved the war Do we now listen to those words You spoke for humanity Your words ring true Oh, Robert, John why they assassinated you This country not true While are the races their skin color and minds blue Do we now listen to those words You spoke for humanity Your words ring true Oh, Martin, are you and I now finally "free at last" Reverend did we finally over come Do we now listen to those words, let freedom ring You spoke for humanity Your words ring true Oh, Obama why you gotta Tell me your healthcare Not your care and that it's not so taxing Oh, but Yes we can Do we now listen to those words You spoke for humanity Your words ring true Some men allow God to sometimes speak through You see those men I spoke of above most times Sometimes... your words my words their words our words, you know Your words ring true By James Edward Lee Sr.
