Author's Notes: This poem, "Your Warmest Embrace My Love," was written as a Japanese "Choka" (or long poem), rendered in alternating five- and seven-syllable lines, and in this instance, concluding with an extra seven-syllable line. A Choka is characteristically "unrhymed." I could have approached my theme using any number of verse and poetic styles, but in the end, I opted to go with the Choka format. The message of "Your Warmest Embrace My Love" is quite clear and enjoyable. I hope you'll find this work of interest!! (Gary Bateman - January 9, 2015) (Choka)
