Your Very First Car

Remember your very first car? The freedom, the unlimited joy? You felt like an adult, not a girl or boy! It took minutes to get anywhere. The library, the cool movies, the scented pizza place? But you saw such sad eyes on your bicycle’s face! How thrilling to rev that car motor, eh? What people or things did we leave, As we dressed up in our adolescent sleeves? What warm and furry pets, left to pine? While your red tail lights pulled away, To live you life, as you well may? 3-2-2022

Mine was a 68 VW beetle with a hole in the sunroof and a spark plug that wouldn't stay connected; the thing still drove. Love it!

My first car was a 1952 Plymouth~should have carried the bicycle in the back seat. Then I got a 54 Pontiac, straight 8, huge white walls. Oh, my 58 Corvette~wish I still had that baby. She was a honey! Good memories.

Happy memories, one thing it brought was independence and freedom. Mine was a light blue Ford fiesta. Tom

Ha, ha! First car? - Sure: A 1963 Pontiac 'Bagel,' bought for $50 from the great Paul Grossinger (THE Grossinger!), who gave this geezer of a car its name... I think it got 7 or 8 mpg and leaked oil. Ran for two years though. Got me back and forth b/t Chicago and Urbana IL. 1972 - 1974. lol. GOD's (Good Old Days). :) gw

I love your taste! Only I rented them on vacations. I was in love with my FIAT! More adventures in breaking down...,but fun. And met great helpers. That was not my first car which was far more beautiful and reliable... thank you, Pangie

This one brought back a lot of memories, Pangie. My first car was a 1937 Ford that I bought while in hi school. I had a horn installed that played "Mary had a little lamb" that I raced about town blaring. I wasn't too popular with the local constable! Bob H
