Your Name
By Franklin Price
7/21/2018
We were in Key West a-drinkin'
Were so drunk we were not thinkin'
Was the middle of a sunny afternoon
All in the bar were smokin'
Irish Kevin was a-jokin'
You won't believe what I'll be sayin' soon
The jokes that he was tellin'
Had all the people jellin'
We laughed 'til we were cryin' in that place
An old biker interrupted
We were soon to be be corrupted
You could tell by the sly smile on his face
He said, “Kevin, you're so funny,
If you have some extra money
I'd like to bet a round for everyone.
That your name is on my thinger
(You could hear the laughter linger)
If you'll bet, I'll show it's true, we'll all have fun”
We then heard Kevin say,
“I was not born yesterday.
I'll be glad to buy a drink for you and yours,
Nothing fancy, not too much,
No margaritas or the such,
If you have my name, it's worth a couple cours
The biker said, “That is okay,
I'll prove what I said today,
That your name is written where the sun don't shine”
He dropped his levis past his knee
And there for everyone to see
Was “your name” and it was tattooed mighty fine
You may not believe this story's true
But I would not lie to you
If in Key West you must not play the game
If you hear a story teller
Who is an older biker feller
Don't bet about the place he has “your name”.
