Your Engraved Initials On My Heart
The starlit sky spoke of soft nights you and I made in love,
while the moon beams shined creating a misty twilight above,
for you are my salvation, my one and only white dove,
and together we fit perfectly like my hand to your glove.
My walls broke down the first glance you ever gave,
and my yellow brick road you offered to graciously pave,
your tender adoration and affection I shall always crave,
and on my heart imprinted initials you did tenderly engrave.
Forgiven offenses relinquished from our burning desire,
for my blaze has been lit as you embrace my passion's fire,
no matter the season our romanticism will transpire,
thank you, my love, for my thoughtful anniversary sapphire.
Beliefs held in matrimony have brought sincere contentment,
we’ve been angry and bitter at times but let go of resentment,
I will have to say our love has been my greatest investment,
and in the heat of a summers day you are my eased refreshment.
As long as the days are ours the nights shall be our retreat,
for you can touch me like that and please constantly repeat,
come over here baby, listen to my verses and take a seat,
then take my hand, embrace my neck and pull up the sheet.
Forever is in our souls as the beauty of life stays just ours,
twenty years seems so long I can’t even count the hours,
thank you for all the little things like the letters and flowers,
our need for each other has caused rain’s hopeful showers.
