Your Cup Runneth Over

I gasp at your crazy pace
You call a life and
Make a conscious effort
To keep you at arm’s length

Your cup runneth over
But I won’t let it
Contaminate my lake

I want to keep mine
As serene as I can manage

There’ll be time enough
For craziness
We each have our turn

But for now
I don’t need to get
Wrapped up in the delusion
That is your own
