You Saved Me From Myself

I was wafting above starlit crimson secrets, releasing perpetual whispers into noisy ears listening not to my kindness... but to the shame I carried from NEVER BEING LOVED. So, this folly I called hope became a thing I was yearning to discover- Flutters of artisan canvases wearing ebon silhouettes of your curves became my intimate desire. Fearing not what lied ahead I took my dank heart and set it aside for no one, but… you. Then you appeared- like a guardian seraphim living only to love no one, but… me. Secretly the daub on my heart lessened, and I sought only your eyes gazing at mine with an ease so soft that it bestowed a faith only our Creator could give. An Aries and Capricorn are we- Two warriors in the night hungering for constellations, hoping by perchance we could become what all lovers hope to become. A place to call home- and that is what you are to me...home. Was it meant to be or happenstance? Is our kismet written in the stars or have we been comforted by angels in our dimmest nights. I leave your side unbearably weeping, for I wish to be near you always. But time passes quickly and I must eventually leave without comfort. So why leave when loving you is my life? I crave your tenderness- and you satisfy the appetite I long for. Eight word challenge-Bardenesque Poetry Contest John Hamilton February 3, 2019
