We moved to Spindale, North Caroiina several years ago. It is a town of wonderful, hardworking people who have been left without jobs; which have been shipped offshore to make the rich richer. Seems the right thing to do... NOT!!

You Need to Come to Spindale By Franklin Price 12/6/2016 You need to come to Spindale To see what offshore jobs can do Closed down all the textile mills And brought in nothing new Sent the jobs to other lands To make the rich a little more While leaving loyal workers No cash for the grocery store Mom's and pops shut down their shops No need to have them there While the rich man buys another house With the extra money, that seems fair The railroad gone, that came through town Heard no more its whistle's sound Replaced by a new jogging path For the unemployed who are around

This is such a sad and heartbreaking poem Franklin. It is unimaginable that this still exists in our country. Someone needs to stand up for the working class and bring prosperity back to this and all of the other towns that are facing the same dilemma. I am fortunate where I live, we have yet to experience this kind of thing, but you never know.

Hopefully, in the next four years, we will see some of our jobs come back. I think extiles may never return. They have been gone since the 80's and 90's;a long time now. It would e nice for areas, such as this to have trainin programs to allow participation in new technologies. We did get a Facebook data center in the area several years ago. That;s something, anyway.
