When Butterflies Return

You come to me in dreams of color Cheeks of air brushed pastels emulate pale butterfly wings peeking through the blush Your delicate body echoes the beauty of spring But my mind freezes when you leave I become aware of time and how it brings old age but living without you is impossible! Absent of you my mind becomes a roar you tiptoe and I sense your presence and your warmth As you approach my toes lose their stiffness My breathing speeds up and my heart beats harder Your touch is soft and gentle as when butterflies return and rest on my finger you have come, you are here one caress and you drive away my loneliness
