You Don'T Know My Name
i just had to be free
i opened up my mouth
and it had no sound
so i took pen to paper
no one could see me for me
so i left a self imprint on
a empty white sheet of paper
trap by my own poverty
i dreamed and i imagined
taking the words
and turning them into lyrical energy
the best trick of them all
was hearing a voice sing
and then writing the words that
would make the whole world sing along
perfect song for that perfect voice
I could hear where they need to breathe
i could hear where they need to be strong
i could hear their highs and lows
i just could do it
I just could make
you feel the real me
the me that feels
the same things
you feel but never
say, from day to day
