You can tell a lot about a person, By the rights they are prepared to give up , For the greater good. You can tell a lot about a person, By the rights they are prepared to hold on to, For the greater good. You can tell a lot about a person, By their perception of, The greater good. You can tell a lot about a person, By how often they fact check, For the greater good. You can tell a lot about a person, By how often, They sit on the fence. You can tell a lot about a person, By how far they are prepared to go, To get their own way.

Thanks Deb. We all need a wake up call sometimes., if we want to become better people, including myself. I think poetry of all the written mediums is best suited for personal growth and to get monkeys off our back and to help others think a bit more deeply about what it means to be human?

Thank you Neil. You have given me an idea for another poem. Few people bother with lists which means they never know or never remember what they are meant to be doing, result chaos? Thanks Alexis. Too many people without much life experience I think although I see hope with some of the young ones coming through who seem wise beyond their years., and we do have more taking an interest in poetry which shows they are thinking a bit more deeply and poetry is good for the soul and general well-being. hmmm deep down we all want our own way but when our will infringes on others rights, then we need to consider we are not the only ones on earth are we , a poem to make us think, thank you for sharing

You are right in what you say, too many people think and live thinking they are alone in world. I was bought up to understand their are consequences for decisions we make. I recently shaved off my moustache. My wife had been asking for that for a while. I decided it was more important to her for me to shave it off than it was for me to keep it on.
