You and I

I was lost in the dark My future a question mark. You sought me out. My life was a wheel spinning without control Fear consuming my soul. You soothed my heart. I was on the verge of destruction Devoid of the hope for salvation. You brought me back. I was burning, Feverous with yearning. You gave me ice, quelled my thirst for life. You yanked me out of despair And took me to a place with sweetness in the air. You gave me another chance To live life as it is again. You accepted me into your dance, And now we are not two, but a pair, one. You set me free, You fulfill me. You are the solid rock, the foundation, And I the house. You are the strong, beating heart, And I the pulse. You are the bright, never changing sun, And I the revolving Earth. You are the perfect circle, And I part of the curve. Lead me, and I will follow, For you are my past, my present, my tomorrow.
