So you found me hoping You found that I was dreaming You found me laughing at my worries And you laughed at my freedom You took a stern jab of kindness And cocked your fist real tight You told me I should worry And that would make things alright You took some sort of freedom And twisted it in half You secured my insecurities Until my mind went adrift I opened my eyes And found myself Looking down, wondering why Holding on to discouragement Because that is what you taught You’re not like any other You get inside And fingerpick my emotions You jumble up knots in my stomach You make me afraid You bring doubts into my mind You are so deceiving I could go on but I’m leaving…
