Yesterday's Love
"Christmas is a day not only of rejoicing but in reflecting too."
Years tick by and each year my memories wash over me again and again, and
Every Christmas I am reminded of the ones I loved now gone
Sadly, it is the most difficult time of the year (where are you Christmas)
Time takes me back and the tattered pages flutter in my mind, where
Every Christmas I got a new doll as a gift, I still have one- the
Roller skates I got one year were great until I crashed and broke my arm
Dad let me help decorate the tree with lights and balls and sparkling tinsel
And we would all sit with tea to admire, mom, dad, me and grandma, my
Younger siblings came at last and joined the circle of love, of family, oh
Sweet are my memories of yesterday's love
Like my dad I was an explorer of nature and all wild creatures, and
On hikes and walks I would discover a passion for forests and fauna, the
Visits to museums with mom and grandma is where I found art, and I recall
Enjoying just sitting together watching a movie with popcorn . . .
