Yesterday Summers
Summer breeze blows soft and warm
Seeping into senses with the sounds
All day we played in the sunshine
In every memory you are around
I long for summers of yesterday
When things were easy and carefree
I long for summers of yesterday
When things were easy and carefree
We stayed up late playing silly games
No classes, no teachers, no real routine
Our parents laughed and socialized more
Life back then was happy and serene
I long for summers of yesterday
When things were easy and carefree
I long for summers of yesterday
When things were easy and carefree
Beyond anything innocence could behold
One summer became a secret untold
A new family moved next door to you
Something wrong, we knew not what to do
Our parents whispered in the gardens
Grilling slowed and more inside we play
Always seemed an adult was in sight
. In time the awful story came our way
I long for summers of yesterday
When things were easy and carefree
I long for summers of yesterday
When things were easy and carefree
