Yes I will go on this ride cling to my safety harness overcome my phobia of heights ignore those screams from the colossus- are they screams of terror, or screams of joy? Yes I will embrace the uncertainty brace myself for every twisting turn each stomach-dropping, breath-stopping heartbeat of sheer acceleration exhilaration as the tension mounts, she reaches for my hand do I speak of riding a roller coaster or falling in love? Wonderful John. I belonged to a rollercoaster club many moons back and have a 22 year old website up on the net about parks, coasters and the history of rides. I can vouch that there was nothing more enjoyable than riding The Wild Mouse rollercoaster or The Grand National at Blackpool Pleasure Beach in the rain..other than being in love and walking in the rain that is :) Loved this poem. Cheers - Gary

John, that is a ride I couldn't get on, I am scarred of height and speed.. Shame on me , but it is a phobia. Enjoyed the verse.

No shame in that, Eve. Best to stick to the rides we can enjoy. Thanks for the visit, my friend. Hugs ~ John

"Do I speak of riding a roller coaster or falling in love? Yes, it's certainly both. :) An amazing comparison between the two. All I say is: "Hold on and enjoy the ride" I'm in awe with your talented pen, my dear sweet friend. This is beautiful in every way and it belongs in my favorites. Because.. :) Hugs, Brandy

Hi John, yes - you leave the readers in suspense, I suspect it was love??? Elias and I went out in our early twenties in the seventies, and then met again for the millennium and got married. On one date, we went on the then daring roller coaster, no seat belts totally open, only a bar to hold on to. I screamed we are going to die, at the bottom when this terror ended he had to pick me up, and seat me on the grass, I had no feeling in my legs. We still have a laugh about it. Hugs & Blessings Jenn

Jenn, your roller coaster anecdote warms my heart and brings a smile. It took awhile, but you found your soul mate. Hopefully the ride of love was much less terrorizing than the beltless roller coaster! Thanks for sharing, dear friend... Blessings and hugs ~ John

SO COOL. If only love were always as exciting as this roller coaster ride. I ADORE all carnival rides but now that I'm "Old" I can't do them. In my 30's I started to get nauseous on them and it kills me that I can't enjoy them any more. I had Joe take me to my last carnival for my 58th birthday. I did three rides and had to drive home with a barf bag which luckily I never had to use!!
