Yellow Back Spider
You might call it an epiphany
as I bedded down amongst the vines
a beautiful yellow back spider
for the entire afternoon
we would spent some time
With sun glistening above
and a wind caution and free
a delicate web of life he began
a sight my eyes marveled to see
From tiny branch to tiny branch
a miraculous grand design took shape
rectangles stacked upon rectangles
squares of silk he fashioned free
Within this beauty and grace
he paused
as if to see
a smile within my heart aglow
a hope for humanity
"Thrive" I said to the little guy
as I rolled back to my feet
a grateful dream I did thee witness
a minuet piece of Gods majesty
