Written In the Stars
I lay here on the grass and stare away.
Waiting for the night to set on the day.
Wondering about everything and nothing at all.
Throughout the winter, summer, spring and fall.
The stars watch over me, my nights and my days.
Although I cannot see them beyond the sun's rays.
I know they are still there shining down.
To make me smile and chase away my frown.
I am thankful the stars are constantly near.
They listen to my wishes, and calm my fear.
The moon is being lazy tonight, her light has not shone.
She has not yet risen and made her presence known.
The crickets and the wind find me here where I lie.
And they sing me to sleep with their gentle lullaby.
The green grass is my cradle, the daisies my pillow.
No tears will come from me or the weeping willow.
The stars are my blanket as my eyes slowly close.
While every thing around me takes a slight repose.
If you live out in the country, then I do not doubt.
Only you know exactly what I am talking about.
