Writing New Sonnet of Life
I have traveled long the same broken pathway,
the serene lake I used to see is now desert dry.
When a new sun will rise with one nascent day
to take a new road to a new waterfront I’ll try.
The opaque nights spread pall of gloom on me,
the face of sea smeared by ink is horizon hazy.
When on nubile night new moon in sky I’ll see
I’ll try morph the moonstruck waves to ecstasy.
My life’s stale prose fills brown pages of ennui,
in this drab time layered years piled on my age.
When New Year dawns after the night of agony
I’ll try write a new sonnet of life on a new page.
