In a terrible mood..
How can I write dreary briefly? The gray veil overcast Reaches down surrounds even soul Why are you so downcast? Dreary plays a great part from start Even roosters' silence Sets this sad somber solemn mood Now dreary needs clearance
Poulter's measure Used by Emily Dickinson in many of her works 8,6,8,6 with the six rhyming Usually 8 lines long Sponsor: Brian Strand Contest: Poulter's Measure

oh, yes, I do remember the time Brian introduced us to this fine form. I like how you "showed" dreariness with your poem, Sara.

Clever write, my friend - I really must read Dickinson. The only piece I really know of hers is the ghost one. I smiled imagining the quiet roosters. The hens next door are always 'singing' LOL
