WORLD WITHOUT WAR

WORLD WITHOUT WAR Most think that war is a male thing A sign of aggression for dominance But takes so many fathers and sons Whether by spears, bombs or guns Yet survival is often by providence Counting the cost victory can bring Yet few recognise the female force Whether it is spite or a bitter feud The ongoing raging of marital strife Or between a mistress and the wife When competition comes unglued There will be all out war, of course Does war hide deep in every soul And will conflicts grow ever bigger History tells us peace isn’t forever With ties that are so easy to sever All it takes is squeezing the trigger Yet a world without war is the goal

an accurate and truthful recount that reminds us that although we want peace and can achieve it, history tells us. Reminds of the phrase 'life is a circular thing.' Reminds me also of the book WAR AND PEACE by Tolstoy. I like the question, "Does war hide deep in every soul?" I ponder that often.
