Words

Don't be so quick to give your word, if you don't aim to act, Such promises should not be heard, if they will not be backed Don't carve a path you will not tread, or chart a course to stray, Some words are better left unsaid, in mouths that only say Don't part your lips for claims untrue, if ever you're in doubt, It's best you give those words a chew, before you spit them out

Some people are quick to speak before they think about what they are saying. Many egos and many hearts have been hurt by this. I nicely penned poem, Jessica. John

I love to read rhyming poems and this is a great rhyming poem Jessica with a great message at its heart. Nice one! I was just wondering Jessica if in the third line of the first verse should read: "Such promises should not BE heard" and the words "or chart a course to stray," in the second verse should be on a separate line. I'm off to read more of your work. :) Cheers - Gary
