Words

Far more words than 
open ears --
a world of chatter;

words everywhere -- 
difficult to avoid such
precipitous splatter…

poets use them, vociferously!

Politicians use them, surreptitiously!
Ministers use them rapturously

Words live
when they are infused
with passion; strengthened
by conviction -- 

my cat says it all
with a well aimed look

twitch of her tail

occasional meow

and luxurious purr

Your cat communicates so effectively with an intented look, the twitch of its tail, occasional meow and a luxurios purr ! Dear Joe, I greatly enjoyed your poem Joseph P. DiMino August 18, 2023 at 7:37 AM Thank you, Valsa -- sometimes we make too much of language. My wife and I are both artists (myself, gravitating more toward writing). She has her side of the house and I have mine. We talk in the mourning and evening, but during the day we only meet on occasion at the refrigerator. A loving look between nibbles says it all.

We are living more and more in a world of exterior appearance, forgetting that honest, human passion, selfless when in comes to image (that's what honesty is), is nearer to spirit seeking divine purpose and fulfillment.
