Wonder, Part Ii

Outside my window, A robin lands on the lawn looking for a worm or two. Squirrels scamper along the branches of a holly tree heavy with berries, eating their fill, heaven for them. My dog sits patiently but expectant, waiting for me to take him for a walk, out into the world, his universe. Why am I the only one who questions, who asks why? Why are we here, and why am I the only animal who can anticipate death, who wonders where we go...?

I hate to be devils advocate here, but I think the birds are heaven sent, I think they know where we go after death, and the butterflies, and the faeries. I would like to see a poem about your dog, L.J.

Yes, I think others of us wonder this same thing. The questions none can really know the answer to until they have passed on. Love that your wondering involves nature.
