Wolf

White hot rage On the nights you hunt Life of intimacy and family Familiar your spirit is to me. Wolf- An ordained totem to my quintessence. Your being, exemplary. Your meaning, came to me In divine majesty From the earliest memory. Shapes of canis delight I spy in the night- When I hear you sing I digest every sound To perceive what you mean. Inborn- your psyche and mine Intermingle as one- Totem- Together we run synchronized Familial bonds; immortal Juxtaposed hearts; aortal. Celestial energy Empyrean chorus Through your amber eyes I view the emerald forest. Spirit Wolf you brought to me your teachings of intelligence, Society, honor and elegance. History hath made you a mystery, Savior to some Contemptible to another Either, or- Serving our Earth Mother.

this is a great poem about the spirit of the wolf. I have a friend who just adores wolves. she paints them and honors them. She would adore this one. congrats for your well deserved win.

I think you are doing just fine, Amy!!! We are our own worst critic.....I find fault in everything I write, when I compare it to another's poem. I think a lot of what we write for contests, is a matter of luck...combined with the eye of the beholder...some will like it, some won't depending on personal taste! I like yours very much! :)

Now I am reading this over...comparing to the brilliant world others' painted for this contest, this poems seems to "constipated"...the words, the energy doesn't flow like with some others. What am I missing? Patience? I am asking for some feedback here. Please- criticize!

What a wonderful entry to the contest! You are a gifted poet, Amy! Well done...the wolf has honor, and often is regarded without respect. ~ Love, Carrie

This is laudable to the extreme. I hope it is for the contest. The wolf is a defamed and hated animal by some and loved by others. He is holding his own right now I think. Wonderful poem. Hope you're putting it into the contest. Thanks for your comments. Joyce
