Without Expectations
Love is measured in sunrises and sunsets
where poems are written
with the ink from its beauty that fills the heart
like an incoming tide rushing to a barren shore
that pushes you towards the outer limit of the world
to look over its edge into the unknown
where dreams form in the sky
and spread a universe of hope and desire
where love is felt turning the world dreamy
with its yearning for its wants and needs
searching as it travels
for a soul of eternal bliss that lights the universe
and washes away the darkness
so you can see the farthest reaches
that's untouched and pure
where eyes look in wondrous wonder
at the face of heaven
as love's breath echos in the heart's chamber
and finds you worthy
to give of itself freely, without expectations
