What is love, what does it do, When you've known no love at all? What if it's frightening, if you fall For one unreachable as you? I never knew what loving meant, What all these feelings do inside How at once torn, sick, sad and light; How painful, delightful, torment. If I love you, please guarantee - Please wrap that fragile heart of mine In cellophane, that looks so fine... - To not feel so alone with me. What is love, how does it feel: Is all my heartbeat meant for you? All warmth inside, for you too? This all, in you and me, is real? I am afraid, I never knew What love is, you must teach me, Every step, patience, I plea! So I can love you too. *** Poem by Darren White November 4, 2016
