With Humble Supplication
My loving and gracious Father,
I praise Your Holy Name and give thanks
for Your tender care in times of distress.
With sickness and hostility all around,
You've kept me safe from all harm,
so through the meditation of my heart,
grateful thoughts I ponder each day.
May I always be pleasing to you, Lord,
and under Your protection may I remain.
When worries become a weighty burden
and I lie awake, restless in the night,
prayers draw me much closer to You,
knowing Your love will keep me safe.
May my heart always be filled with truth
and wisdom from above to do Your will.
May my voice praise You in joyful song,
honoring Your name, as it justly deserves.
Lord, Your compassion is overwhelming,
for a sinner like me to expect to receive.
How unworthy of Your kindness am I.
The breath of life in me, You have instilled
so before You I kneel in solemn prayer.
With humility I offer this supplication;
for whatever in me is chaste and true ~
for whatever virtue You see in my heart ~
Father, please continue to shelter me
as I walk with You each day, hand in hand.
