Notes About The Poem

Contest: Ghouls and Goblins Poetry contest. Sponsored by Joseph May

Witches

Wicked women cast spells
Wearing black pointy hats
With warts and green faces
Warming bubbling cauldrons
Waiting for their potion
While luring bats and frogs
Whisking away on brooms

This is the exact picture, I have in mind when I think of witches. In Shakespeare's Macbeth, I see these three witches brewing a magic potion so much in the way as in your image. Late Congratulations!

Tania, interesting that each line has six syllables. That makes this pleiades a pair of triple sixes + a seventh 6. It's a very interesting (and scary) symmetry appropriate for October!! Smiles!
