Wisps of Recollections

Like wisps of soft white spores - those vague remnants - are recollections wafting through my mind - sun-gold heads of spring I no longer hold, Yet I can glimpse when they turned into fluff. I recall my young self blowing off the fluff of seeds . . . wishing time would pass quickly.

Congratulations on your win. Funny the things we enjoyed doing when we were young. I got a dandelion puff ball not too long ago and showed my grandson, but it didn't seem to interest him.

Dear Andrea, I am enraptured by the lovely, wistful beauty of your verse as my heart and imagination relate to every poetic word. It's amazing how the concept of time morphs throughout one's lifetime. You've captured feelings of nostalgia with shining artistic finesse. Congratulations for your win in Ink's contest. Warmest wishes for a happy Thanksgiving.. ~Susan

This is absolutely gorgeous dear andrea, i just love your wordplay and the way this flows with not just beautiful diction and imagery but emotions that truly is so touching and evocative, i especially love the line “ recollections wafting through my mind -sun-gold heads of spring I no longer hold” soul stirring, and “ fluff of seeds” too is beautiful. The ending touched is soul hitting, pleasure reading this take. Congratulations on your well deserved win

'Relatable to-able,' Andrea... And now we wish we could hold on to every precious spore we so nonchalantly blew away.

hi Andrea immaculate choice of words, from 'wisps of soft white spores' to 'blowing off the fluff of seeds' - 'are recollections through my mind' - 'I recall my young self' - wishing time would pass quickly. I enjoyed the comparison, very clever. Love and hugs Jennifer.

this poem touched my childhood spirit as I remembered blowing the fluff balls off dandelions. Your poem touched that part of my that likes to reminisce. I, therefore, liked these lines: those vague remnants - are recollections wafting through my mind - I like to think of memories as art collections. Have to fave this one, Andrea. Have an enjoyable evening, Sara
