Wish For An Ordinary Day

Another day marches through September With its ordinaries, its appointments, its glitches -- Hopefully, it will pass as most uneventful, Not seared in our brain by some tragedy I’ll settle for a flaccid day of mundanity, A “live and let live” cliché kind of every day With a mere sprinkling of raw spontaneity Slipping into a quiet evening of tranquility.

Or January 6th for me, gw. That was a day that made me realize how precious our country is.

Me too, Milt. The intensity of life on Earth is beginning to get to me. I need more quiet and reflective days in my life. All of the pressing and trying to maximize my time in stressing me out. I really enjoyed the finishing touch to your poem,"With a mere sprinkling of raw spontaneity Slipping into a quiet evening of tranquility." This would be joy for me. Have such a day my friend. Bill

Thanks so much, Bill. I try to every day. I've stopped watching the news and I find myself much happier NOT KNOWING what is going on in the world. After all, I can do nothing about it, so why trouble myself with it??? At my age, I'm happy just getting through another day, looking forward to evenings of tranquility. Relax, Bill, and consider what is really important in YOUR life.

I imagine you were thinking of 9-11 when you penned this "Not seared in our brain by some tragedy"

If only everyday would be like what you have expressed in this lovely Poem Milton. Those are days where life is felt much better and gives us hope for another one just like it. I enjoyed reading. Hope you are well and having the kind of day you wrote about...

Those are the kinds of days that we can pretty much mold to meet our needs and our wants, I think. Thanks for the note, Linda. Appreciate it.
