Winters Scene - Creative Contest
I look through a misty haze
At natures snowy winter call
Gone are the flowers that amaze
Replaced by berries red and small
The birds breakfast table such a feast
Left out by caring people whom
Ensure that mealy worms a special treat
Are placed with other treats by some.
Stop, listen to the silence
Birds are struggling to keep warm
Just the cracking noise as ice breaks
Hanging from the eaves of homes
What are those tiny holes I spy
It’s where the robin made his way
Hopping here and there to try
To find any nuts the sqirrels didn’t see
So much to see through frosted glass
Inviting you to step out and admire
The picture of natures winters past
With smoky chimneys from nowaday fires
