Winter Moon
The grass is brown the trees are too,
the skies a darker shade of blue.
The clouds have lost their beautiful white,
the stars are lighting up the night.
The moon is full and has a grin,
please tell me sir where have you been.
He smiled at me and gave a wink,
his glow so wide I had to blink.
The winds blew in and gave me a chill,
I spied a flake on my windowsill.
My favorite time of year was close,
wiping the frost from my last rose.
The shadows on the lawn are casted in blues,
Autumns turned in for a winter snooze.
I'm all snuggled in warmed by him,
beneath the moon we're staying in.
