Winter Canvas

There's beauty in the mountains.
        When winter comes around,
        Heaven seems to open up.
        and snow starts falling down.

        I looked out over the meadow.
        The green is now all white.
        That babbling little brook,
        It seems to glisten in the night.

        The northern lights and blustery winds
        It lets us know that God is in charge.
        He'll paint a canvas of beauty.
        from now until mid-March.

        The animals are all tucked up.
        Within their winter dens,
        They'll miss this winter canvas.
        of snow and winter winds.

        Soon this frozen canvas,
        It will be a memory in time.
        God will bring forth a new beginning.
        with color and warm sunshine.
