Winter Blues

I felt the shimmer of your soul as you quietly moved your hand the space between... filled with silence my heart heard your voice within causing rain to fall it dripped from my face leaving trails where I sat staining the barren floor of sadness...lonely and silent the only movement was from my eyes searching the dark as I waited for the next grain of sand to fall slowly from the hourglass landing on the tortured pangs of goodbye with empty hands... trembling while the heart rippled and bled pierced by the cold blade of anguish and the sorrowful cries of love's death when I touched the face of pain and disappeared into the night wearing the dark cloak of loneliness 1/1/18 contest Winter Blues

Heady stuff here Frederic---from start to finish enticing, haunting, painting a perfect pen stroke of depression and sadness...ala winter. I no longer write for contests but if I did this would be a bar set high. HAPPY new year!
