Wings To Fly
My soul is eager to return again
And climb the steep trail where stones fall free ~
Among the small robins that drink the rain
And the sweet meadowlarks that sing for me
I follow the path overlooking the hills
My heart feels envy as falcons hover ~ ~
A startled heron causes my eyes to thrill
I watch silver wings break free from cover ~
How brilliantly fly glittered wings of wonder
If only I too, could circle the earth!
To behold the world from the sky, and ponder
Why not each creature have wings at birth?
Free earth’s bondage into luminous air?
With daydreamers flight, I am almost there
