Winding River

The mountains is where the spring is born Where to protect the grandest of castles king of snakes has sworn Then the spring now turned to river winds through fields of corn From its banks some say drank legendary unicorn The river slows down turning into marsh full of marigold When rains fall to it they whisper stories of the old The swamp its secrets to the lucky few will unfold Like the surreal beauty of porcelain sky, lights that are mesmerizing to behold All the enigmas beyond time with magic of the swamp are bound The porcelain sky makes them power that will astound Not necessarily power that shakes the ground But greatest trip inside the mind that can be found The river now flowing fast nourishes the fields People try to control awesome power it wields From the drought there for famine it shields It brings life from its birth to the time to the ocean its water it yields
