Will you be standing next to me

WILL YOU BE STANDING NEXT TO ME

When this world is finally done,
will you be standing next to me?
When all humans reside as one,
no violent colors left to see.

When every evil is all gone,
will you be standing next to me?
When nothings left to fight over,
will you still want to take what's mine?

When the wild beasts will do no harm,
Will you dare to reach out your hand?
When the false prophet is no more,
Will you be standing next to me?

When corruption and greed are gone,
will you rejoice and jump with glee?
When the Lord says welcome home son,
will you be standing next to me?

I really like this one. Also I like the repetitive line. I am trying to think if I ever entered Robs first contest. I think not. Hoping he likes my N/A poem.

Hi John, your poem is deeply moving—both tender and questioning. It holds so much hope, yet doesn’t shy away from the hard truths of human nature. The repeated line 'will you be standing next to me?' echoes like a prayer for unity, love, and accountability. Beautifully written, good luck in the contest...Hugs

I am so clueless about the song / music topic when I first looked at it that I've pursued other pen fuel from other contents. God? Haven't circled back to consider. SO, I don't know what the content should be AT ALL, but I do know this is very attention and emotion catching, all reinforced the repetitive line. Was bummed to not find u here when I came back after more than a year. Missed your light. (read Small Boxed Faces) So Soup is now in order, you aren't Soup-over. So glad you're here
