Wild persimmon nice and round just hanging from my tree Pumpkin-colored beautiful as tasty as can be But do not pluck don’t be a sucker It will surely make you pucker Just let it ripen till it falls and then you will agree!

I have no idea what a persimmon is, Jeff, but this reminds me of our apple trees. If the apples haven’t fallen, they’re sour… if they have fallen, the slugs have had them. We have four apple trees but still buy apples. Go figure!

We always waited until the first frost before eating them. You are correct, however, too early is not a good idea.
