Why I Cry

Moonlight ,shining through the window pane The silence that slowly drives you insane Wind flowing through the trees Talking softy to the summer breeze Sounds out in the night become loneliest when you turn out the light Oh no what's that sound One eye open as you look around Imagination has come unwound Shadows that are dancing across the floor. Maybe mom should of closed the closet door What's that something running through my wall I'd jump and run but id just up and fall but I'd get away if only I could walk Cant tell you I've yet learned to talk It's all this night time dreary That during the day I'm so weary Can't call out your name Your not to blame when I need you I have to cry Just thought id tell you why

It totally describes a young child's fear of the dark so well. I do remember that fear well myself.
